Saka Dawa Special Practices:
May 19 – June 4, 2023

All are invited to join us for special practices during "Saka Dawa," the annual observance of Buddha's birth, life, death, and enlightenment.

(About Saka Dawa)  The dates are aligned with the Lunar calendar and correspond with the new moon and full moon. It is said that during Saka Dawa the benefit of spiritual activities is greatly magnified.  In addition to our regular Sunday sessions we will share three areas of practice during Saka Dawa:
  1. Bodhisattva Vows Our teacher Geshe Nima recommends that students refresh their Bodhisattva vows each day during Saka Dawa. He will confer the vows on the new moon day. Here is a link to Bodhisattva vow for your daily practice >> Download
  2. Tara Mantras Geshe Nima has suggested that we accumulate 100,000 Tara mantras* in order strengthen our study, practice, and ability to share Dharma through TBCWP. The Tara Mantra: Om Tara Tuttare Ture Soha.  (See below for instructions.)
  3. Daily Practice In addition to our regular Sunday 11:00 am gatherings, we have made a list of daily opportunities for study and practice. (See bottom of this page for the list and links.)

Success... 100,000 Tara Mantra Accumulation!

Geshe Nima suggested we accumulate 100,000 Tara mantras to strengthen our practice and TBCWP's ability to share Dharma.
Tara mantra count as of June 26, 2023 = 183,624 mantras   raw data

You can do this on your own and/or with a group on the Saturday mornings listed in the schedule below.   Each time you recite a set of Tara mantras please submit them using the form below. The accumulated count will be updated every few days.
