Compassionate Integrity Training
Local & Global Participants Welcome!
Presented through an interactive online series, Compassionate Integrity Training (CIT) at its core is a set of skills and practices supporting ourselves and how we relate to others. As we practice these skills we have the potential to change systems through greater appreciation of interdependence and common humanity. We are keenly aware that we also need community spaces to practice together—while we may have critical insights alone, we learn a tremendous amount in dialogue and community engagement. The CIT curriculum offers bits of received knowledge but the impact of the course is via engagement with one another, adding new skills and practices and moving toward embodiment of the material. This is the model and aspiration.
Based on the Dalai Lama’s model of secular ethics, CIT cultivates pro-social values founded on common sense, shared experience and science—and is grounded in the individual’s natural capacity for kindness and built upon common humanity and interdependence. CIT employs an integrative educational model that incorporates three foci of knowledge: The Personal – how one relates to oneself, and the knowledge and skills related to the inner life including integrity, emotional awareness, emotional intelligence, self-compassion, courage, contentment and generosity; The Social – this includes empathy, impartiality, gratitude, endearment and compassion; The Systemic – how one engages with the larger world, putting the values cultivated in the program into practice in the world. > LEARN MORE ABOUT CIT Photo Left/Above — An inspiration for, and advocate of CIT, His Holiness the Dalai Lama is said to be the embodiment of the Buddha of Compassion, Chenrezig. Participants choose an "accountability partner" for a weekly a check-in with another in the group—however simple (texting) or fully engaged—to promote a longer conversation with some weekly prompts.
