The Tibetan Buddhism Center for World Peace was honored to host a rare and deeply meaningful event: the creation of a sacred sand mandala dedicated to Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. Over the course of a week three Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Gyuto Wheel of Dharma Monastery will meticulously construct this intricate mandala, offering visitors a unique opportunity to witness an ancient spiritual art form as it unfolds in real time.
This event coincided with the birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who is revered as an emanation of the Buddha of Compassion—making this not only a cultural experience, but a profound reflection on compassion, impermanence, and interconnectedness. |
